Monday, 9/14 - Paris to London
Packed and loaded up, had breakfast at the hotel and headed off to catch the Eurostar 300kph train under the chunnel to London. With traffic, cab ride, and customs - we almost missed the train.
We arrived in London and walked to the Cherry Hotel from Victoria Station.
After dropping off our luggage, we headed to Picadilly Square and ate lunch at the Methodist place next to Westminster Abbey. Walked around and saw Big Ben, House of Parliment, and the London Eye.
We also toured the small Jewel Tower, and did some shopping before eating dinner (Jeff and Kristie at an outdoor cafe and John and Shana had Pizza in Victoria Station).
Stopped for breakfast in Victoria Station before hopping on the train for Windsor Castle. We toured there, then had lunch at E.A.T. and then rode a train and a bus to get to Kensington Palace, where it POURED rain.
After getting drenched walked through Kensington Gardens, we caught another bus to Harrods, then had dinner at the Pizza place inside Victoria station again.
After dropping off some laundry at a local laundrymat, we took a cab to the Tower of London and spent quite a while there and at the Tower Bridge (lunch at outoor cafe there). We then took a boat cruise down the Thames and came back to change, pick up the laundry (this part is a long story), and get ready for the evening.
Kristie hooked us up with an incredible private tour of Buckingham Palace. Her and Shana went early to tour the Queens' Gallery and Royal Mews while Jeff and I were walking back and forth from the hotel to the laundrymat a few times
The private palace tour was absolutely incredible, finishing with a champagne (or orange juice) toast while watching the sunset over the lawn from the Palace veranda. Quite surreal.
We couldn't resist a third night in a row of incredible pizza at Victoria Station - so that was dinner for our last night in London.
Took a cab to London City Airport and jumped on a Lufthansa flight to Munich. Arrived in Munich and choose one of the many beige Mercedes Benz taxis to take us to the BMW Welt (world) to pick up Jeff and Kristie's BMW. Spent all day there, seeing some incredible cars at the BMW museum and even getting a private tour of the factory.
Lunch and Dinner were both at the BMW Welt, then we drove the new car back to our hotel.
